Susie Malcolm - Trainer

Susie Malcolm

Susie began training with the Spokane Training Club in 1980. Eventually she started teaching classes and was elevated to Director of Training for the entire organization. She began teaching for the CDADF and privately in the mid 1980’s. Competing with cocker spaniels and Alaskan Malamutes both in AKC competitions and in Canadian shows, she established herself as a professional. Her dogs have trained through Utility. Her titles earned included Utility Dog titles, several CD’s, CDX, and an AKC Tracking title. One of Susie’s cocker spaniels earned a High in Trial. She developed an interest in agility and qualified to attend the NADAA finals in Houston, Texas. Her first visit in Houston resulted in a 1st in Gamblers and a 9th overall.  In conformation Susie has several Champions in the Breed ring, her most recent being CH Chevelier Polar Star Polar last summer. Once again she excelled when she became interested in International Weight Pulling, receiving many Weight Pull Excellent Titles on both snow and wheels with Cocker Spaniels and Malamutes. Her successes sent her to several IWPA Championships.

She has participated in North Idaho 4H programs, educating our youth and developing programs for 4H in agility, weight pulling and tracking. In addition, Susie has successfully completed the Delta therapy dog program and visits nursing facilities with her huge, but very gentle Malamute, Polar.
